Job Description

Job Objective: To improve the perception of own brand packaging through improvements to materials and print quality. Act as the key communicator between Trading and external Suppliers. Responsible for all packaging substrates and print quality.

Functions of the Role:


• Improving the quality of Morrisons packaging
• Technical advisor - responsible for driving innovation in pre-press and print techniques
• Challenge packaging structures and print processes
• Build Supplier/Printer relations/confidence
• Audit and regulate our printers
• Set up and manage a proofing QC process
• Understand recycling and carbon footprint
• Define packaging reduction opportunities in line with CSR commitments
• Manage the application of our Recyclopedia logos on pack
• Produce mock ups to help sell concepts into Trading
• Work with our factories to understand constraints and recommended packaging solutions to improve print and consistency
• Conduct post launch review, making recommendations to improve packaging going forward

Retail in house Experience
Packaging Print experience
Packaging Technologist / innovation

Essentials :
IOP qualification or equivalent
On Press Print experience all print processes - Litho, Flexo, Gravure, Letter press
QC and Proofing print
Excellent communication/ presentation skills
CSR and environmental aware
Eye for detail
