Job Description

 

.Reporting to:
Packaging Manager, NPD Europe
Global Brands
Key Objectives:
1. To assist Packaging Manager to conceptualise and produce each years packaging range from the European Marketing Brief.
2. To project manage European Multilingual packaging from initial design concept, through artwork, photography, repro, print to final shipment.
3. To maintain the schedule of each packaging product and to update the team on the progress of each item during the weekly NPD Meeting.

Main responsibilities:

• Assist with packaging for entire portfolio of products across Europe-Pack structure, design, photography, copy, translations, artwork, repro and print
• Management of projects ensuring that all elements are produced to the correct specification and are dispatched on time.
• To work with QA to ensure each pack satisfies all requirements.
• Liaising with the international marketing departments managing the approval process.
• Tracking copy and translations for all packaging.
• Attendance at engineering handovers to ensure that all packaging information is correct.
• Art direction and selection of models at photo shoots.
• Liaising with licensors to ensure that the pack design meets their brand requirements.
• Attending the weekly Milestone meeting and update the packaging Status Report.
• Providing mock-ups for trade shows, previews and exhibitions.
• Ensuring that the latest pack photography and logos are available to the marketing team.
• Assisting with the management of the digital asset database.
• Researching and evaluating competitor’s products.
• Sign off proofs, FEP’s and ATM samples to be available for trade fairs to meet with design agencies and review competitors.

Measurement Criteria:

• Having all information and packaging mock-ups organised and ready for each European Line Reviews.
• Timely delivery of all packaging data to source.
• Packaging Milestone data to be up to date.
• Quality of the information provided to the vendor in the form of timely feedback and Engineering Hand-overs.

Based in Surrey, this is a busy role that requires excellent organisational & admin skills, the role is to project manage the design & artwork process but not to be a hands on designer.
