To support the UK & Ireland markets and supply chain in their technical needs for packaging
Participating in project teams delivering the technical packaging innovation and leading cost saving projectss.
Candidates must have thorough understanding of marketing issues and be comfortable to work within a branded marketing area, as well as being capable of project management, and the trouble shooting elements of the role . In addition to technical skills the jobholder must be competent and comfortable in initiating and following through commercial discussions with the supply base.
To support technical aspects of the packaging supply base to the manufacturing plants ensuring quality
and manufacturing efficiency issues are addressed, and all legal and commercial requirements are met opposite European packaging legislation
KEY ACTIVITIES
1) Support innovation and launch projects technical packaging testing/evaluation/input and on time delivery
by representing the packaging team in meetings developing briefs and implementation plans, carrying out feasibility studie and plant trials
packaging testing / specification technical interface with suppliers and sharing successful innovation within the packaging team
2) Identifying, developing and delivering cost savings
3) Key lead on Sustainability project Team with Trade Business
4) UK Packaging waste Legislation analysing annual packaging use and submitting data to the ICI compliance system
5) Keep up to date with new technology in the market, and identify new suppliers, that supports the development and launch projects of the UK &
Ireland business
6) Providing technical influence and support to Quality issues
7) Develop and implement best practise processes as required
GENERAL ATTAINMENT [Education/Professional]
Minimum requirements
- Technical / Engineering Graduate (or other higher education e.g. HNC )
- Professional Qualification eg. Member of Institute of Packaging / IOM3

Experience of Packaging Industry with some FMCG experience
Knowledge of the Coatings market or related industry an advantage.
