Job Description
| Responsible for developing packaging projects, ensuring all packaging aspects of the project will be delivered on time and in full, building a network of packaging development partners, and supporting the and Packaging Process Manager on the overall responsibility for Value Improvement program (VIP), simplification and harmonisation. Be part of the artwork and packaging team and ensure that packaging development best practices will be shared across various brands. Responsible for testing protocols/validation of given material and design to ensure suitability for industrialisation. Upfront predictive testing to minimise trials in plant of non-saleable finished goods. Liaison with third party manufacturers + sites to ensure robust validation of changes to packaging materials + effective change management within documentation systems. Work closely with Marketing to understand respective brand identities and deliver packaging that is consistent with this. Work closely with Innovation to understand the packaging requirements for the formulation and provide a holistic view of material selection. Understand requirements of third party manufacturers and sites with respect to packaging material quality. Be a support service and resolve non conformances At all stages of development and implementation, ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. Experience Required : Consolidated experience in packaging design/development Consolidated experience in all packaging processes Consolidated experience in packaging material specification Experience assessing and validating new suppliers Good knowledge in packaging optimisation techniques, like FEA, mould flow Good experience in packaging line trials Good Knowledge in 2D and 3D CAD software Experience in ISO and GMP best practices applied in artwork Ability to demonstrate a degree of operating autonomy Articulate, clarity of thought, excellent verbal reasoning skills Degree level education (ideally Engineer/Packaging technology or similar) Good experience in packaging evelopment within a Healthcare / Personal Care or FMCG environment (minimum 2 years) Excellent communication and presentation skills.
