Job Description

  Key Responsibilities: • Develop packaging solutions for new and existing products and working closely with teams from other business functions. • Develop material and pack specifications, standards and manufacturing control procedures for new products and changes to existing products and processes through creative packaging development. • Design and execution of pack keeping and transit trials and the building and maintenance of new and existing packaging records and specifications. • Uses technical and business knowledge to influence commercial, supply chain and purchasing in strategic decision-making process. • Identifies and evaluates opportunities for driving brand growth, increasing pack quality and increasing company profits through the manipulation of pack design and processes. • Specifies changes to materials and/or control standards in sufficient detail to allow smooth and efficient implementation of new and improved packs into Factory production, working in close partnership with locally based supply chain packaging personnel. • As an acknowledged packaging expert, advises and assists Manufacturing in overcoming any serious problems in use.

Candidate Requirements: • Packaging development experience. FMCG experience is an advantage. • Degree level qualification in Packaging Engineering / Science / Technology, or equivalent experience. • Proven track record of delivering projects to meet commercial, supply chain and purchasing requirements. • In-depth knowledge of commercial and technical aspects of packaging production and use. • Experience of working in cross-functional teams and motivating others to deliver project deadlines. • Highly motivated individual with strong influencing skills. • Strong commercial awareness and creativity. • Excellent ability to plan, organise and prioritise activity.
