Delivering packaging initiatives with excellence in collaboration with partner functions.
Working with Regional Commercial, Supply Chain and Purchasing teams to ensure their optimisation goals are being met.
Provide resources to ensure site based operations are maintained to standard
Setting the direction for the Category Commercialisation Team.
Accountabilities
• Ensure efficient commercialisation of new packs and pack modifications, working with the Supply Chain teams on implementation activities and to facilitate run to standard.
• Provide effective scale-up of pack developments from prototype to scale manufacture and, in conjunction with Manufacturing Technical, on to factory solutions.
• Translate consumer imperatives into process constraints during scale-up
• Manage packaging development of projects in the IPM process, ensuring they are implemented on time and with due consideration of all functional areas.
• Understand and communicates implications of manufacturing conditions on pack performance and line efficiency
• Develop new pack transformations to drive better performance and/or increased throughput
• Be accountable for factory support ensuring site-based packaging operations are run to standards and supplier quality programs are in place to manage specifications
• Ensure documents and audit trails are available for product category at all times
• Work with Regional, Global Supply Chain and Purchasing teams to ensure their goals are being met as to drive value optimisation to deliver improved bottom line financial performance
provide technical assistance in improving production efficiency, provide technical support and trouble-shooting assistance to resolve significant production issues.
• With partner functions, evaluate cost drivers and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Develop packs that meet consumer needs and cost targets
• Manage the activities of the Category Commercialisation packaging team.
• Coordinate communication of Packaging cost reduction projects with stakeholders
• Establish and maintain appropriate systems to monitor progress against objectives. Ensures execution excellence through resource planning and contingency planning to deliver business results.
• Coordinate activities of other functions to ensure success of commercialisation and value optimisation projects
• Uphold Corporate and Regional legal, quality and safety standards, ensuring that all new products and materials are evaluated for compliance and that all quality pre-requisites are adhered to for new product launches
. Pre-requisites
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have
• Strong leadership capabilities to manage a team of 3 - 5
• Commercial awareness to enable framing of key projects.
• A collaborative style with excellent communication skills for Commercial and Technical audiences
• related experience in package development and commercialisation
• A first degree or equivalent in packaging, science or engineering (or relevant experience)
• A demonstrated track record in successful new pack introduction into a manufacturing environment
• A demonstrated deep technical understanding
Salary details up to £45,000 + car or car allowance (approx £5,500 p.a) + 15% bonus + share scheme + pension + private healthcare + generous relocation expenses
