Job Description

Working for an international fmcg brand covering Europe, Middle East and Africa.  Based within the Packaging Commercialisation team, being responsible for technical support within challenging timelines you will be expected to ensure accurate packaging specifications and develop operational standards contributing towards best-practice performance specifications and world class efficiency at site level.

Within the fixed period (initially 6 - 12 months) you will also be expected to evaluate a specific specificational mix, ensure it’s suitability, identify harmonization, where possible, and validate final specifications prior to uploading them onto the in house technical data management system, all within the agreed timelines of the wider project team team.

2. Accountabilities

 Determination and documentation of packaging operating standards incl. troubleshooting
Provide a comprehensive technical packing support service
IIdentify and initiate productivity and efficiency improvements
Continuous improvement in packaging quality with suppliers
Ensure all BOMs, packaging specifications and associated systems are in place on time
Ensure that new packaging trials and start-ups are conducted effectively and efficiently
Project engineering support, engineering improvements or changes
Clear focus on waste reduction incl. cost savings at site level
Involve others in and communicate changes
Ensures that all activities are carried out with due regard to Corporate Policies and applicable legislation.


Pre-requisites

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have :


a) Excellent operational experience. FMCG experience is an advantage.
b) Degree level qualification in Packaging Engineering / Science / Technology, or equivalent experience.
c) Proven track record of problem solving
d) Experience of working in cross-functional teams and motivating others to deliver project deadlines.
e) Ability to initiate and drive developments to completion against testing timescales.
f) Highly motivated individual with strong influencing skills.
g) Excellent ability to plan, organise and prioritise activity.
h) Good numerical ability.
i) Proficient in English
